SIBU:  12 teachers including four Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) examination  invigilators were sent by a Sibu Civil Defence  lorry yesterday morning to Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Tanjung Latap.

According to the Secretariat of the Sibu Division Disaster Management and Assistance Committee, Captain Frankie (Civil Defence) John Jawan, the   road  to SK Tanjung Latap yesterday morning was under one foot of water  and inaccessible to light vehicles.

“Heavy rains have caused the  river to overflow its banks and submerge the road heading to SK Tanjung Latap.   12 teachers including four UPSR examination invigilators were sent using our lorry,”  he said when contacted by reporters yesterday.
