SIBU: Sibu has the potential to progress even further if its infrastructure is systematically developed, said Works Minister Baru Bian.
He said the state’s third largest urban centre’s future lies in the development of infrastructure that it is famous for — its wharfs and ship building sector.
“Its strategic location by the Rajang River is what makes it the centre of commerce, trade and tourism in the central region,” he said when officiating at the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) new building here, today.
Baru said Sibu has the potential to be what Copenhagen is to Denmark – a environment-friendly city.
He said with its tropical jungle backdrop, Sibu can be a green frontier city.
