SIBU: Sibu Jaya public library was closed immediately starting today until May 21 after one of its staff members was confirmed positive for Covid-19 after being exposed to a Covid-19 positive case.

In this regard, Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) chairman Sempurai Petrus Ngelai urged his staff who had attended the SRDC Standing Committee Meeting via Zoom at the library on 11, 17 and 18 May to conduct PCR test immediately.

“Sanitisation works on the library has been conducted today.

“I also want to remind members of the public who are dealing business transaction with us to comply with standard operating procedures (SOP).

“We seek your understanding and appreciate your cooperation for the sake of the safety and wellbeing of the general public and council,” he added in a statement today.
