SIBU: The people here have been told to stay calm because of the lack of face masks and hand sanitisers in the market.

This is due to Covid-19 outbreak in the state where as of March 15, the state has recorded a total of 20 positive cases.

Sibu MP, Oscar Ling in a statement yesterday also urged the people to take care of their own health and to keep away from public gatherings.

“Regularly wash your hands with soap, and take precautions provided by the government to prevent the spread of the disease,” he said.

Ling also urged the people of Sibu not to believe in fake news such as the “lockdown” that has already being enforced in the state as being spread on social media.

“Keep up-to-date with reliable media to prevent you from being panic by fake news.

As Covid-19 has affected more victims, it is hoped that the people of Sibu can take care of their health so that the spread of the disease can be controlled,” he continued.
