SIBU: Sarawak Central Zone Electrical & Electronic Sales & Services Association (SCZEESSA) has shown their care for the homeless persons housing at the temporary transit centre (TTG) in Jalan Sanyan here.
SCZEESSA’s chairlady Lau Wang Mee led her committee members to make a generous donation of foodstuffs and household items, including in the form of cooking oil, tooth paste and brush as well as toilet papers for the residents in the centre today.
Lau said it has always being the association’s goal to care for the needy at society level whenever they could.
Apart from that, she said other charity projects the association had undertaken earlier included donation of foodstuff and household goods to Methodist Children Home as well as contribution of solar light system for the Citizen Middle School.
Meanwhile TTG in-charge Kapitan Tieng Mee Ann who received the donation from Lau said the centre being set up under the Sibu Welfare Department currently has 16 residents.
Out of the number, he stated 10 of them were males and the rest females, age ranging from 23 to 80’s.
Among those present at the handing over of donation were SCZEESSA’s vice chairman Ngieng Hock Chung, treasurer Michelle Law Wan Ling who is also a councillor of Sibu MUnicipal Council and TTG’s assistant supervisor Mow Yoke Ming.
