SIBU: A male driver of a pickup vehicle was injured after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree.

The incident happened at Batu 7 Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman at 8.20am this morning.

Cording to Sibu OCPD ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, the 28-year-old male driver was driving his vehicle towards Sibu Airport from the city centre.

“As he drives at the incident location, he suddenly lost control of the pickup, skidded on the left side of the road and crash into a tree.

“The driver only sustained light injuries and in stable condition. He is still receiving treatment at Sibu Hospital,” he stated.

The police are investigating the incident under Road Traffic Rules 1959 LN 166/59 Rule 10 for failing to control the vehicle while driving.

Zulkipli advised members of the public to drive safely and carefully on the road for the safety of oneself and other members of the community.
