Sibu police search for missing Indian national

SIBU: The police here are actively searching for a 23-year-old Indian national who fell off a boat at Sungai Maaw Road Jetty.

The missing man, who worked as a crew member in a shipping company based in Sibu, went missing yesterday (Apr 11) at 10.30am, according to Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili.

His colleague, an Indonesian national, reported the incident to the police later that day at 3.25pm.

“A multi-agency search and rescue operation will be conducted involving the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) and Civil Defense Force (APM),” he said in a statement last night.
