KUCHING: THE Sibu Swan team emerged champions of the Mukah 10-aside rugby tournament final held at the Mukah Polytechnic field in Mukah on Sunday. The team from the Piranhas Rugby Club of Miri emerged first runners-up in the competition which started on Saturday.
In the Plate category, the team from Kuching Rugby Football Club (KRFC) emerged as the champions, with Sibu Saints team the first runners- up.
In the Bowl category, home team Mukah B won the event followed by the team of KWRC. The team from Bintulu won the Shield category, beating Mukah A. In the Women’s category Mukah B were the champions, UiTM Kuching second and the Roses team finished third.
Polytechnic Mukah’s deputy director of Academic Iskandar Ridwan was present at the prizegiving ceremony, together with the Head of Sports Unit Soffian Sout and secretary-general of Sarawak Rugby Union (SRU), Abdul Ghaffar Arshad.
