SIBU: Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) has proposed and will continue a variety of activities to be held in Sibu, next year.
Chairman of SMC, Datuk Tiong Thai King, disclosed this during the full council meeting recently.
Tiong said the first event will be on March 10, 2019, which is the Sibu Tower Run at Wisma Sanyan and the final one will be the 2020 Countdown at Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang Phase 1 on the December 31, 2019.
“The event starts with the Sibu Tower Run on March 10, 2019 and will be followed by the Borneo Cultural Festival and Sibu Street Art Festival which is to be held on July 18 to 27, 2019 at the Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang Phase 1 and 2.
“The Sibu International Dance Festival from August 13 to 17, 2019 will be held at the Sibu Civic Centre and the Borneo Talent Award on November 22 to 23, 2019 will be held at the Sibu Civic Centre,” he explained.
In addition to that, the SMC will also organise the Sibu Christmas Tree Decoration Contest in December next year, to be held at the Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang Phase 1.
He added that Sibu Bike Week will be held on December 6 to 8, 2019 at the Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang Phase 2.
“Therefore, the council welcomes the public to come and experience what SMC has to offer for next year,” he said.
