KUCHING: Sarawak Infectious Disease Centre (SIDC) and Murdoch University inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which took place at the Murdoch University in Perth, Australia yesterday Mar 4.
The momentous signing ceremony between the two establishments sought to solidify their partnership.
Earlier, Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development (MEITD) Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn led a delegation to visit Murdoch University in Perth, Australia.
The visit aimed to foster strategic collaborations and explore innovative initiatives to enhance Sarawak’s research and educational landscape.
The delegation team includes MEITD Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee, MEITD permanent secretary Datuk Azmi Bujang, Undersecretary of Innovation Dr Cheong Yaw Liang, Sarawak Research and Development Council (SRDC) general manager Dr Peter Morin Nissom, Sarawak Biodiversity Centre chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Dr Charlie Yeo, SIDC CEO Dr Ivan Yap, and SIDC chief engineer Dr John Panil.
The delegation discussed academic partnerships, research collaborations, infectious disease detection, vaccine development and talent development initiatives.
They also visited the Lab of Australia National Phenome Centre.
