KUCHING: Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS) or the Sarawak Dayak Women Association held a two-day Strategic Planning Workshop for its leaders over the weekend on last February 23 and 24 at the UCSI Hotel here, it said in a press statement yesterday.
The workshop was to give in-depth knowledge on SIDS vision, mission and objectives as well as to map out or do the strategic plans and the way forward. The workshop was conducted by experienced trainer Dr Florince Christy from Futuristic Communication Management Services Sdn Bhd. It was attended by all leaders from the executive committee and the twenty-six (26) branches from across the state. A total of 68 participants attended.
In her closing remarks, SIDS chairman Datuk Ir Alice Jawan, highlighted the needs for the association to rebrand itself to the current environment.
“Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak will be an organisation that is inclusive and transparent in its management,” Alice said according to the statement.
During the workshop, SIDS leaders developed the various strategies and programmes for the development and growth of the organisation. Programmes with high impact to the Dayak women will be organised in collaboration with the branches which include leadership training for the leaders and networking with young Dayak women, the statement concluded.
