KUCHING: The Siew San Teng Tua Pek Kong Temple procession will be held on Monday (March 11), starting at the temple and passing through various streets of Kuching.

The procession of Siew San Teng Tua Pek Kong Temple routes, will start from the temple, and proceeding to Main Bazaar, Gambier Street-Market Street (open Air Market), Khoo Hun Yeang Street-Barrack Road, Pearl Road, Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, Carpenter Street, Ewe Hai Street, Wayang Street, Jalan Tabuan, Jalan Ban Hock, Jalan Pandungan, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and lastly coming back to temple.

“A total of 145 teams have confirmed their participation. The organizers urge the public to cooperate by refraining from parking their vehicles along the procession route,” it said in the press statement.

All the participating teams will depart from the temple at 4.30 pm. This triennial event aims to foster harmony among Sarawak’s diverse religious communities, welcoming locals, visitors and tourists.

Amazingly, this historic Siew San Teng Tua Pek Kong Temple has been in existence since before 1839. It is one of the oldest Chinese temple in Saraweak that adds cultural richness to Kuching.
