KUCHING: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Stakan Branch Chairman, Sim Kiang Cheok said the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
He liken the case where the state DAP is learning from their new master, Tun Mahathir who preferred to give a negative view of everything Barisan Nasional (BN) does.
“Here we see the DAP already using this tactic. They criticise the LRT as if they are economic experts and present such a disastrous picture as if Sarawak has no other people with brains apart from the DAP,” he said.
Sim reminded the DAP that they have a government to administer in Penang and from what he can observe the government administered is not being done with the famous C.A.T as promised.
He added that the underground tunnel project which was awarded and to be commenced in 2013 but, in 2017 its commencement was postponed for 15 years and only start in 2023.
He said the DAP government paid record monies in the form of prime land in advance to the private company in 2013 even though no works has commerce.
“To make things worse the company has awarded the construction of tunnel it will be charging toll notwithstanding the wind fall they have already made now with nothing done.
“The studies have yet to complete on the project even though the fee has almost being all paid. Apart from that, the price paid for the so called studies was considerably very much higher compared to normal accepted professional rates prescribed within the law of the profession. Why is DAP in Sarawak silent on these matters?
“We know that they have no voice in the hierarchy of DAP, but surely their friends will listen to the advice of extremely smart people who are trying to teach the Sarawak government.
“Recently, we see that even the DAP’s Chief Minister in Penang doesn’t dare to debate the matter with MCA’s Wee Ka Siong.
“Questions have not been answered and even here in Sarawak we find the so called fighters in DAP are silent and mute on this matter,” Sim pointed out.
According to him, what the DAP failed to see is a real long term solution to both the traffic woes and the housing issue.
