Rumah Museh, a 20-door longhouse in Kampung Sungai Merah, Sri Aman, was razed in a fire on Sunday afternoon. “We (Chee Chuan Khor Simanggang members) and Assistant Minister of Community Well Being, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis rushed to Kampung Sungai Merah after receiving the news on Sunday.

“We handed out food aid and giving moral support to the victims,” said the association Chairman Temenggung Kueh Aik Seng. According to him, they also helped the fire victims of Rumah Engkabi Jamu in San Semanju, Lubok Antu.

The fire incident at Rumah Engkabi Jamu occurred at 8am on Monday and destroyed seven homes of the eight-door longhouse. Kueh called on the private sectors and associations in Sri Aman to provide assistance to the fire victims in both longhouses to ease their burden.
