KUCHING: Simunjan is set to undergo major development projects worth RM852 million by 2030, as announced by Batang Sadong MP Rodiyah Sapiee. A comprehensive plan consisting of 37 projects has been proposed for the period from 2021 to 2030, after dropping three projects worth RM160 million following a recent review.
“After a two-day review, we reached a consensus among workshop participants to remove three projects, leaving us with 37 projects valued at RM769 million. Out of these, 14 projects worth approximately RM481 million are already in progress,” stated Rodiyah during the closing ceremony of the Simunjan Development Plan Review Workshop held at a local hotel on June 21.
In addition to the existing projects, the workshop identified 39 new projects, expanding the development plan to a total of 76 projects. This expansion increases the estimated investment to RM852 million over the next decade.
“Our recent review led us to add 39 new projects to the existing 37, resulting in a total of 76 projects with an estimated value of RM852 million until 2030. Our goal is to achieve at least 80 per cent completion of these projects, turning our plans into reality,” emphasized Rodiyah.
She stressed the importance of cooperation among government agencies to ensure the successful implementation of these projects, which will bring significant infrastructure and socio-economic benefits to the people of Simunjan.
The closing ceremony was attended by Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris, Simunjan District Officer Seroji Ludin, and Simunjan District Council Secretary Mohd. Rizal Zakaria, among others.
