KUCHING: The Singapore business delegation’s visit to Kuching ended on a high note after a series of networking sessions, discussions, field trips and presentations.
Feted to a welcome dinner graced by Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, the 60-person delegation also participated in back-to-back field trips to get acquainted with the numerous business industries in Sarawak.
Areas of specific interests covered aquaculture, modern agriculture and farming, manufacturing, real estate development, business investment hubs, Sarawak Biodiversity, SMM2H, education, banking investment incentives and technology.
Government ministries from the Economic Planning Unit Sarawak, Ministry of Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development, Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment presented to the group of business organisations and investors on Sarawak’s readiness and available capacity in development and collaboration schemes for investors.
“This visit has been an eye-opener. Seeing the tremendous potential that Sarawak has to offer, we hope that this will be the beginning to see our efforts in encouraging such trade missions to Sarawak become fruitful with actual and firmed business collaborations between Singapore and Sarawak.
“With our state’s mission to see a high income developed nation by 2030, we hope to do our part in supporting the aspirations and goals outlined in our government’s Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030,” said Sarawak Business Federation president Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg.
This delegation was a joint effort developed by Sarawak Business Federation, STATOS supported by Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, and United Bank Overseas (Malaysia) Bhd.
