KUCHING: A group of 52 entrepreneurs from Singapore arrived here on yesterday night (Feb 20) for a three-day business trip.
Accompanying them was Sarawak Trade and Tourism Co Pte Ltd (STATOS) chief executive officer Chew Chang Quan, and he said the purpose of the trip was to further strengthen ties between Sarawak and Singapore.
“For instance, we will introduce some of the interesting things in Sarawak, and from there the ties will be further strengthened from the aspect of business, tourism and also investment.”
Chew added that for some of the entrepreneurs, it was their first time visiting Sarawak.
“They come from different sectors, some of them are from logistics, IT and retail.”
He said this when met by reporters at Kuching International Airport.
Chew disclosed that there would be plenty of events throughout the trip.
“We will organise a networking meeting with some of the Sarawak entrepreneurs to exchange views, ideas and extend collaboration.”
The Singapore delegation will be in Kuching until Feb 24.
