BAU: Siniawan has set a remarkable record with the unveiling of the longest hanging dragon lantern decoration in Sarawak, stretching an impressive 298 feet.

Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh said the achievement is likely unparalleled in Kuching, as no other town or city has showcased a dragon head of such length.

“Here lies the uniqueness of our Siniawan town. Despite our diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds, we come together to celebrate every Chinese New Year, Christmas, and Hari Raya. This is our uniqueness – a small town where we strive to give our best to every visitor.

Miro during his speech

“Tonight, we witnessed the eye-dotting of the dragon, lion dances, inaugurated the dragon lantern lights, and unveiled the first dragon head made in Siniawan and the decorations you see took a month to prepare,” he asaid in his speech when officiating at the Dragon Eye Dotting ceremony at Siniawan Town, here last night (Jan 20).

Miro encouraged everyone present to capture the moment through photos, share them widely, and inspire more people to witness the beauty of the extensive dragon head, reaching all the way to the cricket field.
