TUMPAT: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Mahmud Mahyidin student Siti Nurul Fadilah Muktar, who scored 8As in the Sijil Peperiksaan Malaysia (SPM) examination which she sat for last year, regarded the tuition classes organised by the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) as a catalyst for her success.
She said she attended the tuition classes organised by ECER since she was in Form Three.
“I sat for the Form Three Assessment (PT3) in 2016 and only scored 3As, and getting 8As in SPM is unexpected, as I only managed to get 4As in the trial examination, and was aiming for only 6As,” said the 18-year-old girl when met at her family home in Kampung Pasir Pekan Hilir here today.
Siti said she joined the ECER tuition classes, held during the weekends, for Malay Language, English, Mathematics, History and Science.
She scored A for Malay Language, Islamic Education, History, Mathematics, Science, Geography, Agriculture and Business, but a D for English Language.
The youngest of 16 siblings, Siti said she also participated in courses organised by ECER, such as the Math Boot Camp, English Booster Week and Neuro Linguistic Programme.
She hoped to be able to pursue her studies at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). – Bernama
