KUCHING: The Sarawak State Legislative Assembly’s (DUN) second sitting of the fourth quarter of the 18th state assembly which will sit for eight days starting Nov 8 will see the tabling of the state’s 2020 budget supply Bills by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar said there were another five Bills to be tabled of which three were the new Bills, namely, Strata (subsidiary title) Bill, 2019 by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan; Strata Management Bill, 2019 would be tabled by Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, while the Sarawak Heritage Bill, 2019 would be tabled by Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.
“Another two amendment Bills namely the Sarawak State Library (amendment) Bill 2019 will be tabled by Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office Datuk Talib Zulpilip as well as Natural Resources and Environment (amendment) Bill 2019 that will again be tabled by Awang Tengah,” he told reporters after a pre-council meeting at the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) headquarters here today.
Asfia said a total of 372 questions (both for oral and written replies) have been received from 48 assemblymen, the majority being directed to the Chief Minister’s Department.
“Out of these 372 questions, one question had been rejected therefore the accepted total questions are 371,” he added. – Bernama
