SIBU: Six individuals including three children managed to escape from their two-storey house which went up in flames at Jalan Oya Batu 16, today.
State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre said that a distress call about the incident was received at 5.15pm and a team of firefighters from the Sibu station was immediately despatched.
Upon arrival, it was discovered that the fire had damaged 60 percent of the house.
Firefighters managed to put out the fire by 6.38pm. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
