Six fined RM1,000 each for SOP violations

KUCHING: Six errant individuals were slapped with a RM1,000 fine each for failing to comply with standard operating procedure (SOP) guidelines in public places.

“Kuching recorded five compounds issued while one compound was issued in Padawan.

“Meanwhile, the Ministry of Local Government issued 146 verbal, written, and seizure warnings in areas under the supervision of various local councils,” said Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

On SOP compliance monitoring, patrol teams had inspected 1,644 premises throughout Sarawak.

These included 285 restaurants, supermarkets (199), banks (118), public markets (93), places of worship (85), hawker stalls (50), leisure places (48), government offices (34), factories (22), construction sites (14), and others (696).

Under Ops Benteng, SDMC said a total of 1,031 vehicles were inspected at six roadblocks in five districts – two in Lundu and one each in Bau, Serian, Sri Aman, and Lubok Antu.
