Six held for substance abuse

Six individuals being arrested for allegedly involved in substance abuse in 'Ops Cegah' last Thursday around Samarahan district.

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Six individuals including a woman were arrested for alleged involvement in substance abuse last Thursday (Jan 28).

The National Anti-Drug Agency (Nada) Kota Samarahan revealed that the operation dubbed ‘Ops Cegah’ was carried out after receiving public complaints and conducting intelligence.

The operation involving nine personnel, took place in Kampung Jaie and Kampung Tanjung Bundong.

As a result, the team nabbed five men and a woman, who were suspected to be substance users.

All of them were also tested positive for the drug syabu and they will be investigated under Section 3(1) Drug Dependence (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983.

The agency has advised the public not to engage in any activities related to processing, supply, smuggling, sales and drug addiction.
