KUCHING: Six vagabonds were among nine men detained during an integrated operation here on Saturday after they were tested positive for drugs.

National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) Sarawak spokesperson said the detention of the six was made during two operations that were carried out simultaneously from 1pm to 12am together with the police, Kuching North City Commission (DBKU), Resident Office and State Health Department.

“We managed to detect nine individuals who tested positive for drugs, either syabu or methamphetamine.

“Those detained, aged between 30 and 50 years, were picked up at various areas such as Kampung Panglima Seman and Kampung Rampangi, including a vacant building in Jalan Ajibah Abol where the six vagabonds were arrested,” he said.

They will be investigated under Section 3(1) of the Drug Addicts, Treatment and Rehabilitation Act 1983 (amended 1998).
