KUCHING: The Magistrates Court here yesterday sentenced a man to six months in prison for threatening his mother after she failed to give him RM50 to buy fastfood.
Yazid, 30, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali to the charge under Section 506 of the Penal Code.
Syarifah Fatimah ordered the accused to serve his prison sentence from September 15, the date of his arrest.
According to the fact sheet, Muhamad Yazid had made criminal threats against the 64-year-old woman, saying, “I will continue to collect money from you every day, if not, I’ll make sure you suffer.”
He committed the offence at their home in Jalan Samariang, Petra Jaya.
It is understood that he always acted violently and would threaten the victim if she did not give him the money.
