MUKAH: SK Kampung Tellian will finally have a new school building after 15 years. The project started with the clearing of 10 hectares of land for the construction.
The full replacement construction work of the school was initiated by publishing a tender notice, followed by a site visit and clearing of the new school building site. The contractor had also set up necessary facilities such as the temporary accommodation and canteen for the construction workers.
R ony Mujal, a resident of the local community hoped that the construction work would be implemented with conventional methods and not by using the Industrialised Building System (IBS). “It’s been a long time for us to have a new school building.
I hope it will be completed soon and will be used by our children in the future. “Once the school is completed, we as parents will no longer have to send our children to the school every day. It will have dorms and this will reduce our transportation cost,” he said.
