SIBU: The Sarawak Kita Empun 2.0 (SKE 2.0) programme, organised by the PBB Women Supreme Council, has so far been held in three PBB branches: Demak, Simunjan, and Mulu.
According to Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women chief Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, the objectives of the programme are to ensure that the women’s wing remains active and relevant, not only during election periods but at all times.
“We will extend this to other branches in the near future, continuing until 2025. The programme’s content will be tailored to the specific needs and issues of each area,” she said at a press conference following the PBB Women’s Supreme Council meeting at a renowned hotel yesterday (June 30).
Meanwhile, regarding the meeting, the Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development said preparations for the state election which was expected to be held in 2026 were a key topic.
“PBB women are reminded to always be ready for elections, particularly now, as the electoral roll of the Election Commission shows that, as of December 31, 2023, there are 1,982,400 registered voters,” she added.
She highlighted that their main focus would be on newly registered voters, including those from the Undi-18 initiative and others who have been automatically registered but have never voted.
“PBB Women must remain vigilant and prepared in all circumstances. At the state, branch, and sub-branch levels, they must avoid complacency, work diligently, be proactive, and stay relevant in their roles,” she said.
Fatimah also emphasised that PBB Women should continue to fully support the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government under the leadership of the Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, in his commitment to ensuring robust development for Sarawak and its people.
“Therefore, PBB Women strongly condemn the recent social media posts, which have already been reported to the police by several parties.
“These posts undermined the Premier’s efforts and wisdom and slandered him with unfounded and baseless accusations. PBB Women hope that the author will be brought to justice promptly,” she added.
