KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 266 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday (Nov 16), a slight drop compared to the previous day’s 287.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said 253 of the total number of cases comprised Categories 1 and 2, while 13 were Categories 3, 4 and 5.
Kuching accounted for the highest number of cases at 109 followed by Miri (48), Sibu (36), Bintulu (19), Lawas (14), Bau (seven), Samarahan (five) and Selangau (four).
Three new cases were each reported in Kapit, Saratok, Belaga and Subis while Betong and Pusa reported two cases each.
Limbang, Sri Aman, Serian, Meradong, Tebedu, Telang Usan, Tatau and Sebauh reported one case each. This brings the cumulative cases in the state to 247,933.
Meanwhile, SDMC also declared four fatalities from Nov 7 to Nov 15.
“The deaths consist of victims aged between 32 and 86 years old from Bintulu, Kuching and Sibu,” it said.
The committee also announced the enforcement of the enhanced movement control order on Rumah Naing, Nanga Bulo, Sungai Lijan in Julau from Nov 15 to Nov 21.
