KUCHING: The business community and local residents are disappointed with the slow and alleged shoddy upgrading works of the Kota Sentosa Mini Town Square.
They have conveyed their unhappiness to the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) public complaints bureau (PBC) chief Wilfred Yap during his walkabout in Kota Sentosa yesterday.
According to Yap, they particularly complained about the delay in the improvement and upgrading works of the canopy and stage at the Kota Sentosa Mini Town Square.
“The business community and local residents are also unhappy with the alleged shoddy workmanship and cleanliness of the construction site,” he added.
Yap expressed concerned with the ‘sick’ project, adding he would inform the Padawan Municipal Council (PMC) engineering division about it.
Yap, who is also a councillor with PMC, has recommended that PMC issue a stern warning to the contractor to keep the construction site clean at all times.
Yap also urged the contractor to speed up the work as its completion was long overdue.
“I will also recommend to PMC to consider blacklisting the contractor concerned for future PMC projects due to the sub-standard performance in carrying out the project,” he added.
Yap said PBC would continue to serve as the eyes and ears of the community living there to ensure that the infrastructure facilities in Kota Sentosa area were constantly upgraded and maintained.
He said anyone requiring assistance could always call SUPP Public Complaint’s mobile number at 016-7797688 or 082-246999 or go direct to SUPP Head Office to request for assistance.
