KUCHING: Innovative engineering is the key to overcoming Sarawak’s transportation hurdles.

State Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin said engineers played a crucial role in shaping the state’s infrastructure.

“We need to leverage the expertise of our engineers to build a sustainable and efficient transportation system for the people of Sarawak,” he said during a courtesy call by the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) Sarawak Branch, led by chairman Ir Stephanie Sim Hui Kheng, at his office in the Sarawak Legislative Assembly Building (DUN) today (Nov 15)

The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views on the development of the engineering sector in Sarawak.

Sim extended an invitation to Lee to attend the IEM Sarawak Branch’s annual dinner on November 24 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

The event, themed “Building Resilience Through Climate Action,” will be attended by about 1,400 people, with Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg as the guest of honour.
