SIBU: Chairman of Sibu Municipal Council (SMC), Clarence Ting on Nov 1 (Sunday) visited the Taman Indah Sunday Market.
He was accompanied by SMC Market and Petty Traders Standing Committee chairman, Councillor Albert Tiang.
The purpose of the visit was to check on the business at the market.
“Most of the traders started their business around 4am so when I was there around 9.30am, their day was almost done.
“Most said their business had slowed down because there were fewer customers. They attributed this trend to the increasing Covid-19 cases in the state,” said Ting.
He said the traders were keeping the place clean.
