SIBU: The Recycling Day, “Waste to Wealth” programme will be held at Heng Hua Memorial Park, Basketball Court here on Jan 20 from 8am to 1pm, said programme organising chairman Toh Yong Kiang.

The programme is organised by Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) in collaboration with Taman Seduan neighbourhood watch committee (KRT).

Speaking at the press conference at SMC premises yesterday, Toh said previously a door to door collection for various types of recyclables was held on 15th of every month at Taman Seduan but now, the collection has been fixed to one location.

“This time from next month onwards, the recycled items collection will take place on every Saturday from 3pm to 5pm.

“The fixed collection point is also easier for some families who collect the recycled items and do not know where to sell them or give them away. So now we provided a fixed location to facilitate them.

“We also accept e-waste at the fixed location,” Toh said, while ensuring a better offer rate for all recycled items.
