KUCHING: A generative artificial intelligence (AI) training programme has equipped Sarawak’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with the tools to enhance their productivity and competitiveness.
Organised by Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) Sarawak and SM Digital Innovation Sdn Bhd recently, the programme aimed to equip SMEs with practical AI applications to revolutionise their operations.
According to MPC Sarawak’s statement, Malaysia’s ranking of 23rd out of 181 countries in the Oxford Insights Government AI Readiness Index 2023 highlights the importance of such training initiatives.
A key component of the programme was the use of Xentinel AI, a local platform that provides tools for text generation, audio synthesis, and other applications to improve efficiency.
“Generative AI is not just a trend but a modern management strategy that helps businesses remain competitive in an ever-evolving environment,” said MPC Sarawak director Dr Mazlina Shafi’i.
“Initiatives like this are essential steps toward building a strong ecosystem for SMEs in Sarawak, ensuring they remain at the forefront of innovation and productivity enhancement in the region.”
