KUCHING: The Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Youth Unit 19 (RCYU 19) SMK Batu Lintang has been praised for planning activities throughout the year despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

A Virtual Recognition Night (VRN) was recently organised in appreciation of the unit’s committee members.

Fifty-two participants attended, and among them, the newly elected chairperson of MRC Stampin committee Chai Chon Hon; SMK Batu Lintang senior assistant of co-curriculum Abdul Salam; SMK Batu Lintang RCU teacher advisors Ho Jia Yiing, Ann Marie, Nosin, and Macdeline; representatives from St John Ambulance, SM Chung Hua No.1, and SMK Bandar Kuching No.1; as well as MRC committee members 2021.

“Although everyone is facing problems during this difficult time, the Stampin Chapter is always ready to support all MRC members.

“The VRN was specially held in appreciation of the overall efforts of the committee members in planning the meaningful activities for the club throughout the year.

“I sincerely hope that the younger generation will go all the way to do their best for humanity.”

Meanwhile, Abdul Salam reminded the students on the importance of proper documentation.

“I am really proud of their achievements. Nonetheless, I would like to remind the organisers to prepare and submit concept papers before carrying out each activity.

“Our school will give full financial support.”

A certificate presentation ceremony was also held for the MRC committee members; winners in SMK Batu Lintang First Aid Telematch 2021; Best Station Leaders in the first aid telematch; MRC Achievement League’s Highest Scorer; and BSM Designing Competition 2021 (T-shirt Design category and Mask Design category).

The highlight of the night was the Kahoot games on general knowledge prepared by Alicia Claire, Esther Shim, and Megan Nacha Sengalang. 

Jordan Tan from SMK Batu Lintang was crowned as the champion. The night ended with a lucky draw prepared by Elaine Joyce and Claudia Martiza Anderson.

The lucky winners were Jap Yan Hong and Ivan Bong from SMK Bandar Kuching No. 1 and Richard Goh from SMK Batu Lintang.
