KABONG: Finally the dream of making Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Kabong into one session was finally achieved – after a 12-year wait.

It became a reality when the school started operating and conducting classes as one session institution today.

Kabong assemblyman Mohd Chee Kadir thanked all parties concerned for making the dream possible.

“I understand that SMK Kabong has been operating for two sessions for almost 12 years. The two sessions were inevitable due to a large number of students enrolling in the school and the number kept increasing from year to year.”

He said the success story began when the school management came to discuss with him about ways to overcome the problem last year.

Following various meetings, he said he allocated the sum of RM134,188 to the school for maintenance works in the existing classroom buildings and purchase of tables and chairs as well as other teaching and learning aid.

Mohd Chee noted that one of the key factors in making the one session school possible was the provision of enough classrooms for all the classes.
