KUCHING: Aurora Sdn Bhd has made SMK Matang Hilir proud after winning the Best PROTUNe Company title at the state-level Program Tunas Niaga Convention here at Grand Margherita Hotel.
The team of six students won a trophy, certificate and RM1,500 yesterday.
The first runner-up was D’Semerah Sdn Bhd from SMK Semerah Padi — the team took home a trophy, certificate and RM1,200.
Iris Sdn Bhd from SMK St Teresa placed third, walking away with RM1,000, a trophy and certificate.
Purple Nova Sdn Bhd from SMK Balai Ringin won the Highest Sales category.
In the Best Promising School (Sekolah Harapan) category, the title went to New Pennzone Sdn Bhd from SMK Penrissen No. 1.
Both schools bagged RM600, a trophy and certificate.
The three-day convention, which was spearheaded by Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), was part of an initiative to develop entrepreneurial skills among students.
Yesterday, the convention was launched by Education, Science and Technological Research Assistant Minister Dr Annuar Rapaee.
Over 150 students throughout Sarawak participated in the programme.
