SIBU: SMK Sacred Heart has been ranked as one of the 10 best schools in the country for the 2017 STPM (Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia) examinations.
This is the second consecutive year that SMK Sacred Heart has been placed among the 10 best schools at the STPM examination level.
The school’s excellent performance with an Average School Grade (GPS) of 3.34 has maintained its position as the best secondary school in the state for STPM examinations for three consecutive years.
For the record, a GPS of 3.17 was obtained in 2015 STPM and 3.36 in 2016 STPM examinations.
“After we received the news, we immediately booked a flight for the Principal, David Teo to go to Putrajaya to receive the award.
“We also recorded a 100 per cent passing rate for three consecutive years,” said Form 6 Senior Assistant, Lai May Ging during a press conference at the school yesterday.
Out of the 135 candidates, 24 obtained 4As whereby 12 of them achieved a full pass of 4As, 23 with 3As and 21 with 2As, which resulted in 68 candidates who obtained excellent results.
“The 12 candidates with a full pass of 4As are Wong Fong Fei, Christine Lau Lik Zi, Elaine Sii Liu Wen, Ha How Ung, Christy Law Siew Chin, Carmen Lim Mei Sze, Hwang Mee Ling, Kang Zhen Leong, Venessha John, Bika Nyambik, Lau Siew Chi and Roland Mecal,” added Lai.
Also present at the press conference was the Secretary of the School Management Board, Dr Hii Sui Cheng.
