MIRI: The Lions International Peace Poster Contest 2023 has been won by Chai Wen Wen from SMK Subis.
Emilia Tie Tze Rong from SJK (C) Chung Hua was placed second and third place went to Tang Ru Xian from SJK (C) Chung San.
Chairperson of Lions Club International of District 308-A2 Region 4, Wong Pak King, said for over three decades, Lions clubs around the globe have been sponsoring a very special art contest in schools and youth groups.
“More than four million young people from 100 countries worldwide have taken part in the contest.
“Creating peace posters gives children everywhere the chance to express their visions of peace and inspire the world through art and creativity,” he said.
Organising chairperson and president of the Lions Club of Centennial, Rivka Tan, meanwhile said the contest is a global annual event aimed at children aged 11 to 13.
“I really want to thank all the students who participated in this year’s contest,” she said.
