MIRI: A man had a shock late Sunday when he found a cobra curled up in his washing machine.
The incident took place at his Kampung Pejuang Kelulit home in Bekenu near here.
It was understood that the homeowner saw the cobra inside when he was about to stuff some clothes into the machine.
He immediately rang up the Batu Niah Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) for help.
According to Miri Bomba chief Supt Law Poh Kiong, six firefighters were dispatched to the location at around 5.27pm.
It took the firefighters less than 10 minutes to secure the reptile.
The snake was later released back to a nearby forest.
