KUCHING: A sexagenarian, who was reported missing in Kampung Tanjung, Limbang, was found dead by rescuers a few hours later.

According to a statement from the Fire and Rescue Department Thursday, 63-year-old Liam Tikas was found dead, believed to have been bitten by a snake near a bush not far from an orchard.

A search and rescue (SAR) team, led by senior Fire and Rescue officers II Zakaria Mat Nor and Mohd Ali Mohd Salleh, was formed following a distress call received at 2.30pm.

“The firefighters found him near an orchard area at 4.20pm,” added the statement. The victim was handed over to the police for further action.
