KUCHING: Police has arrested a suspect believed to be involved in snatch theft cases at 12.30pm last Tuesday. The suspect aged 24 was arrested from his house at Kampung Tabuan Melayu near here. He was also tested positive for drugs.
On 28 October, the victim who was returning from work was talking on her mobile phone at about 7pm while waiting for her father to pick her up at a post office at Jalan Tun Abang Haji Besar here when the suspect snatched her gold necklace valued at RM4,500.
It is believed that the gold necklace has been sold to a man known only as Mahmud. Police are investigating the case.
