KUCHING: Balai Ringin assemblyman Datuk Snowdan Lawan visited SK Jaong, Pantu todaty to check on its condition and to deliver aid to the victims of a fire that destroyed part of the school.
Late Tuesday, the fire damaged eight teachers’ quarters. The occupants were injured.
Snowdan presented financial assistance of RM10,000 to the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of SK Jaong and RM1,000 to the victims of each of the quarters.
The cheque for RM10,000 was presented to SK Jaong PTA deputy president Jefferey Panas.
Also present to provide assistance was the Social Welfare Department of Sri Aman division.
Sri Aman District Education officer Dr Abang Adam was also present to survey the condition of the school.
