LIMBANG: The Malaysian Red Crescent Society Limbang recently distributed a total of 200 Hari Gawai envelopes in conjunction with its Gawai 2022 Envelope Distribution Programme.
According to the statement by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), the programme was the first ever held in Limbang.
The envelopes were later presented by the Agriculture Modernisation and Regional Development Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail to the Limbang Community Rehabilitation (PDK) trainees and senior citizens.
“I hope that this kind of contribution can be continued in the future, including during the Chinese New Year celebration,” he said.
Following the programme, Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also the patron of the Limbang Branch Red Crescent, also allocated RM20,000 to the branch for its activities this year.
He advised those celebrating the Gawai Dayak festival to always take care of themselves and adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set.
