KUCHING: Progress requires listening, understanding and working through resolving differences to provide the best solutions to working with people on both sides of the aisle to create harmony.

In stating this the Sarawak Society For Tolerance and Awareness (Softaa) said it was planning to organise public gatherings, forums and even symposium to  empower the people with knowledge on all domestic issues.

In a statement Softaa said enriching the people with greater knowledge on matters surrounding them will create awareness and lead to greater tolerance in the state’s plural communities thereby promote universal stability.

Softaa stressed that the time is rife for society to work together with the government and all stakeholders.

“Our prime objective is to provide members with moral, spiritual and material assistance regardless of race, religion and creed,” it said.

“We have received calls from many volunteers who wish to participate in our forthcoming events to be our guest speakers in numerous fields such as education, safety and health, medical and hygiene, drug abuse and enforcement,” it added.
