MIRI: Most locals lauded the Sarawakku Sayang Special Aid Package (Pakej Bantuan Khas Sarawaku Sayang) which was announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday.
The package is part of the state government’s effort to help ease the people’s burden during the current Covid-19 outbreak.
Iqbal Abdollah, a government servant, sees the package as pure and straight forward aid for the people.
“At least there’s light at the end of the tunnel for many people,” he said, thankful that the state government took such a step to help the people.
“As we are all in a state of uncertainty due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there is a ray of hope for Sarawakians to face the future,” he said.
“I really appreciate the help as it reduces certain types of burden especially electricity bills, water bills and other financial commitments,” he said.
For Spanski Steven, the stimulus package would support the small and medium businesses besides being beneficial for certain groups of people.
