KUCHING: Song District has turned its status from orange to red zone after recording 53 local infection cases in the last 14 days.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said this in a daily Covid-19 press statement on Sunday (March 14).
“Serian, Subis, Julau, Betong, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu districts remain as red zones with a total of 2,483 local infection cases recorded in the last 14 days.
“Meanwhile, Bau, Mukah and Sarikei districts remain in orange with a total of 95 local infection cases reported in the same period,” it said.
In yellow are Dalat, Limbang, Selangau, Telang Usan, Tanjung Manis, Kanowit, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Belaga, Lundu, Bukit Mabong, Tatau, Marudi, Pusa, Asajaya, Beluru, Saratok and Sebauh districts with a cumulative of 137 local infection cases.
Eight other districts in Sarawak are green.
SDMC also said 172 patients had recovered and discharged from hospitals on Sunday — 61 from Sibu Hospital, 30 from Miri Hospital, 21 from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), 21 from Bintulu Hospital, 14 from Kapit Low-Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC), 14 from Betong PKRC, and 11 from Sarikei Hospital.
“This brings the total number of recovered and discharged cases to 9,987 or 80.21 percent of total Covid-19 cases in Sarawak,” it pointed out.
SDMC further added that there were 2,328 individuals still undergoing treatment at hospital isolation wards in the state — 755 in Sibu Hospital and PKRC, Miri Hospital and PKRC (410), Bintulu Hospital and PKRC (325), SGH and Kuching PKRC (263), Betong Hospital and PKRC (195), Kapit Hospital and PKRC (191), Sarikei Hospital and PKRC (125), Mukah PKRC (21), Sri Aman Hospital and PKRC (20), Serian PKRCs (18), Limbang Hospital (three) and Lawas PKRC (two).
“Today, 178 new person-under-investigation (PUI) cases have been reported and none are awaiting laboratory results,” it said.
