KUCHING: Former Miss World Malaysia 2008 Soo Winnci has recently joined Universiti Teknologi Mara’s (UiTM) College of Creative Arts as an associate professor at its Faculty of Music.
The singer-actress has also been listed in the Malaysia Book of Records as the first Miss World Malaysia to be appointed with the academic position.
The 36-year-old shared these in a series of Instagram posts today.
“It’s been a whirlwind these few years for everyone… and yes, today (April 1) I will be officially appointed as an associate professor,” she wrote on her Instagram three days ago.
The 36-year-old also expressed her gratitude to those who have supported her reason.
In 2020, she was reportedly working towards obtaining her second doctorate, a PhD in Philosophy, in Spain.
Soo obtained her first PhD in business administration at Open University Malaysia (OUM) in 2016.
The following year, she obtained a degree in innovation and technology in music production from the Berklee College of Music’s campus in Valencia, Spain.
Soo also has a masters of business administration from the University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia and a law degree from the University of Reading, the United Kingdom.
