KUCHING: The Public Services Commission of Malaysia (SPA) has now opened an interview centre in Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) at Kuching and Miri.
Its chairman, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Zainal Rahim Seman said that Kuching and Miri have a newly opened centre in their UTC after Perlis, Perak and Penang.
He said that SPA has moved forward with its plans to improve and upgrade the interview centre which is a valuable and conducive environment.
Adding further, he said that the opening of the interview centre would enable applicants to travel to a closer destination and provide convenience for those interested in applying for a role in the government.
He said this when met by the reporters after officiating at Kuching and Miri SPA interview centre at UTC Kuching yesterday.
Following that, he said for applicants in the rural area or outside town, they may apply online as SPA have provided interview sessions conducted online.
“We have created a computerised online application system through SPA where candidates are required to do an online examination.
“I am confident that with this opportunity, more applicants would want to join the public service,” he said.
When asked regarding whether there is a quota available for Sarawakians, Zainal said that the selection process for civil servants for SPA is open and has no limits.
“Therefore, we choose the best regardless of whether they (applicants) are from Sarawak and Sabah.
“In fact, if the interview is held in Sarawak, we would choose members from Sarawak to come and delegate the interview sessions because they are much better aware of the environment and situation, “he added.
