MUKAH: Sarawak Plantation Berhad (SPB) recently took the initiative to support local education, partnering with agencies and communities to uplift Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sungai Duan.

As part of this effort, SPB Board of Directors member Philip Matau presented a cheque donation to the Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) of SK Sungai Duan and SK Pengkalan Lobang.

SK Sungai Duan received RM2,000, while SK Pengkalan Lobang was granted RM8,000.

The aim of this initiative was to inspire parents and students to prioritise education.

SPB firmly believes that education is key to a brighter future and that challenges should not hinder children’s access to schooling.

Through such programmes, SPB strengthens its bond with the local community.

Also present were SK Sungai Duan headmaster Jostin Usan, PTA president Bunsin Chalana, SK Pengkalan Lobang headmaster Afian Bokhan and PTA president Rami Apit.
