KUALA LUMPUR: In conjunction with the 125th anniversary of Johor Constitution, Pos Malaysia has unveiled special edition stamps featuring the portrait of Sultan Abu Bakar of Johor, His Majesty’s royal seal and a partial photo of the state’s constitution originally written in Jawi.
Pos Malaysia Berhad Group Head of Channel Management and Customer Experience Azmil Othman Merican, in a statement today, said the company is honoured to issue the special edition stamp series which commemorate the introduction of the first-ever written constitution in the Malay Peninsula.
“It is our hope that this issuance will preserve this historic event and serve as a platform to educate the younger generations of our country’s history and legacy,” he said.
Alongside the stamps, the collection will come with a miniature sheet that pays tribute to Johor rulers by featuring Sultan Sir Abu Bakar, Sultan Sir Ibrahim Al-Masyhur, Sultan Ismail, Sultan Iskandar, and most recently, Sultan Ibrahim Ismail.
According to the statement, the stamp series will be ready for purchase beginning tomorrow on Pos Malaysia’s e-commerce website as well as at 13 general post offices and selected post offices nationwide.
In view of the implementation of the movement control order (MCO), Pos Malaysia also encourages customers to purchase the new stamp collection through Pos Malaysia’s e-commerce store at https://www.pos.com.my/shop/products/stamps.html.
